Coaching for Writers

Get unstuck. Finish what you started.
Coaching for Writers

You know what you want to write. You just can't seem to get there.

Maybe you're 30,000 words into a project that's lost its shape. Maybe you've been "almost done" for a year. Maybe you sit down to write and everything that comes out feels wrong — but you can't name why. Maybe it's more existential, and you wonder what the point is, especially in a world of AI, and where you have to promote your work after you've done what used to be considered the hard part: writing it.

You don't need more craft advice. You need someone who understands what's actually in the way.

What this is

A six-session, one-on-one coaching engagement designed for writers who are stuck in the middle of a creative project. We meet every two weeks over three months. This isn't open-ended therapy and it isn't a critique group. It's a focused partnership with a clear goal: figure out exactly where your project is stuck and build a path forward.

How it works

We start with where you're at, and that's enough. But if you're open to using a diagnostic tool, my preference is the Enneagram type. Your type shapes which creative decisions feel safe and which ones feel terrifying. It reveals the patterns that keep you circling the same problems. A Type 1 gets stuck differently than a Type 7. A Type 4 abandons projects for different reasons than a Type 3. And I just happen to have access to a state-of-the-art test you can take as natural as a conversation for free with EMMA.

Once we see the pattern, we build a decision map for your project — the specific choices you've been avoiding, the structural problems hiding underneath the emotional ones, and a realistic plan to move through them.

What you get

  • Six 55-minute coaching sessions over three months
  • An Enneagram-based creative profile identifying your specific stuck patterns
  • A decision map for your project — where it is, what's blocking it, and what comes next
  • Accountability from someone who has edited and published 40+ books and knows what it takes to finish.

Who this is for

Writers with a project in progress — a novel, a memoir, a collection, a nonfiction book. You've started. You believe in it. But something has stalled and you can't push through on willpower alone.

This is not for beginners looking for a writing class. This is for writers who already know how to write but need to get out of their own way.
