The Descent

Essays on the work of becoming.

I write about the intersection of ambition, identity, and what it costs to build something that lasts. Not content. Not productivity tips. Essays, in the old sense of the word — attempts.

What The Descent Is

Most writing about building a career or a creative life falls into one of two traps: it's either relentlessly optimistic or performatively dark. The Descent is neither. It's an honest account of what it actually costs to do serious work — and what makes it worth doing anyway.

The essays are long. They are specific. They assume you are an intelligent adult who doesn't need to be managed.
